Today the second day of His Majesty’s 3rd Coronation Anniversary week, the Palace hosted an enlightening lecture and symposium.
Themed ‘The Challenges of Minority Ethnic Groups within the Nigerian State,’ the discourse was led by the esteemed Professor Benson Osarhiemen Osadolor (Former Ag. VC, AAU), alongside distinguished contributors from the Itsekiri Nation: Chief Robinson Ariyo a seasoned legal luminary, Hon. Daniel Reynieju, former member of the Federal House of Representatives and Sir A. S. Mene a seasoned intellectual and professional who spoke on Socio-cultural perspectives to the theme.
The symposium illuminated the unique plight of the Itsekiri people—a minority endowed with substantial resources yet confronting the harsh realities of marginalization within a predominantly heterogeneous nation. The discussions were not merely a reflection on these challenges but also a call to action, offering strategic recommendations for how we, as Itsekiri, can assert political relevance and protect our rich heritage.
His Majesty’s unwavering dedication to championing the cause of Warri Kingdom and its people is evident, as this symposium emphasized the importance of navigating these complexities with resolve and foresight.
